Lucie Rozsnyó studied voice (classical, opera) with Anna Barová at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. She also spent periods studying at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, under Claudia Visca, at the Anton-Bruckner-Privatuniversität in Linz with Kateřina Beranová and at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Zürich. In September 2013 she completed her doctoral studies in Performance and interpretative theory at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, supervised by Ivo Medka. She is continuing to develop her solo voice with soprano Helena Kaupová.
Lucie has furthered her vocal experience by attending international singing masterclasses with Leopold Spitzer, Rotraud Hanssmann, Piotr Olech, Patricia Rozario, Debbie York, Julie Hassler, Caroline Pelon, Marie Christina Kiehr and Evelyn Tubb.
At the Leoš Janáček international singing competition in 2005 Lucie won 1st prize, and was judged the best performer of contemporary Czech compositions. She also won an award at the Internationale Sommerakademie Prag-Wien-Budapest for the best performance of Janáček. In 2012 she won 1st prize at the ABA Music Awards (Austria Barock Akademie Gmunden, R. Dubrovsky).
For JAMU chamber opera, Lucie studied the roles of Lady Diana (B. Britten: Beggar's opera), Lisetta (J. Haydn: Il mondo della luna), Lapák and Woodpecker (L. Janáček: Cunning Little Vixen), Eleonora (A. Salieri: Prima la musica poi le parole) among others. After graduating she appeared at the National Theatre in Brno in the role of Adelaide (P. Glass: La Belle et la Bête) and as Jane Fonda in the opera Mai 68 (P. Kofroň).
Lucie has also performed at the Moravian Autumn festival in the contemporary opera Macbeth (M.Košut), for which she took on the role of Lady Macbeth. At the Mexican Festival in Brno, she appeared in the lead role of the Queen in the opera Apoidea (J. M. Delgado) and in the role of La Llorona (O. Rojas) in the opera of the same name. At the baroque theatre at the Litomyšl château and in Česky Krumlov she performed as Apollo in the baroque opera Terpsichore (G. F. Händel) with Musica Florea (Marek Štryncl). Further roles include Coryphée and La Discorde in Amadis de Gaule (J. Ch. Bach / dir. D. Talpain) at Prague’s State Opera and at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, and Eminia in Siface (N. Porpora) with ensemble Hoffmusici (Ondřej Macek).
Lucie has performed at numerous festivals including: Prague Spring Festival, Janáček May (Ostrava), Forfest (Kroměříž), Mladá Smetanova Litomyšl, Smetana Days (Plzeň), Český Krumlov Festival of Baroque Arts, Haydnovy hudební slavnosti, S hudbou za památkami plzeňského kraje, Hudební léto Borska, Meetings of New Music Plus (Brno), the Easter Festival of Sacred Music (Brno), Musica Sacra (Nitra, Slovakia), Ars Antiqua Europae in via Gothica (Betliar, Slovakia), Muzyki Nowej (Bytom, Poland), the Leoš Janáček: Life, Work, & Contribution festival (Texas, USA), the Winter in Schwetzingen festival (near Heidelberg, Germany) and the KlassikFestival Schloss Kirchstetten (Kirchstetten, Austria). She has also recently performed as part of the regular concert cycle at ORF RadioKulturhaus (Vienna, Austria).
Lucie appears regularly on the concert platform both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She frequently appears as a soloist with baroque ensemble Musica Florea, with whom she has performed the St. Matthew and St. John passions (J. S. Bach), the Oratorio per la Santissima Trinita (A. Scarlatti) with director Gianluca Capuano and many other works. She also works with Ensemble Inégal, Hoffmusici, Hipocondria ensemble and Musica Divina Praga. She is a founding member of female baroque group Ensemble Fiorello, of Grupetto Colorato, and of the Aurette duo, as well as chamber ensemble ISHA trio, which performs 20th and 21st century compositions.
